a few other housing highlights
it has a (small) backyard! so excited about a little green space of our own the back of the house is just begging for some patio furniture and a grill (and something to make it look a little less like the back of my grandparents’ house) haven’t you always wanted to check yourself out while you rinse the dishes? and cook on a crazy yellow stove?

We still lost 242 Alabamians, though. We are still rebuilding. Still searching for normal. I am still amazed by the work that people have pulled together and done in my city and those around Alabama, but there is still so much left to do. I drove through Tuscaloosa last weekend. Areas that once held blocks and blocks of friends’ college houses, houses we spent hours and hours on the porches...

Kid in the front of the IMAX 3D line is a twat. Also, where are the adult Harry potter fans? These kids weren’t even born when Book One came out.

Things I unapologetically love right this second
- all thing teal and turquoise, from running shorts to nail polish to bracelets - everything Harry Potter - the smell of sunscreen that reminds me strangely of early Saturday morning long training runs - maxi skirts - mango flavored anything, especially Luigis Italian Ice, and especially for breakfast - the feelings of my running shoes on my feet - sunsets and pre-storm breezes on the fire...

Apartment Hunting
This past weekend we got the delightful news that our apartment building has been sold and we have to be out by the end of August. Now we are beginning the delightful task of looking for an apartment, saving for deposits (why must everyone charge an arm and a leg to bring a precious bulldog with us?) and start the packing process. Here’s our apartment wishlist so far: central air and heat...

Halfway through 2011!
I did an update on my 111 in 2011 list earlier this year and though the halfway point of the year would be a good time for a new update. Looks like there’s plenty I can work on over the next 6 months! Wake up 20 minutes earlier. I should probably get back to actually trying to do this again. Get to work 5 minutes early. (Hopefully helped by number one) Total fail that I must start working...

25 Signs You've Grown Up. →
According to the post I reblogged earlier, I am so NOT an adult. According to this list I most certainly am. This is a perfect example of being 24.

The Frenemy.: By Now →
thefrenemy: I thought that I would be mature enough to stop biting my nails. At this point, my nails are like snack food, they cannot be longer than a stub before I ravenously chew them off like a rat. Here I am, almost 23 years old and gnawing at my fingers like a crazed OCD psycho. I actually feel bad for my hands- the way I pick off my nailpolish like I am Avril Lavigne getting rejected...
